LEGAL NOTICE

TOWN OF DOVER

INVITATION TO BID

The Selectboard of the Town of Dover hereby provides notice to the community and to the public at large, that, in accordance with Title 24, Vermont Statutes Annotated, Section 1061(a), it intends to convey by Quitclaim Deed, certain parcels of real property, described and listed as follows:

  • Being certain lands located at 283 Blue Brook Road (Dover Grand List Parcel number AM030) as conveyed to Brion C. Nelson by Amended Warranty Deed of Robert E. Kathan dated November 30, 2000 and recorded November 30, 2000 in Book 184, Page 396 of the Dover Land Records; as further described in a certain Tax Collector’s Deed granted to the Town of Dover dated January 16, 2015 and recorded January 16, 2015 in Book 328, Pages 360-361 of the Dover Land Records. 
     
  • Being lands and premises known as 72 Captain Copeland Road (Dover Grand List Parcel number CP013) conveyed to Robin Jackson and Lynn Jackson by Warranty Deed of Boris Yakovleff and Jacqueline Yakovleff dated and recorded November 28, 1962 in Book 20, Page 376 of the Dover Land Records as further described in a certain Corrective Tax Collector’s Deed granted to the Town of Dover dated May 17, 2018 and recorded May 17, 2018 in Book 348, Pages 338-339 of the Dover Land Records.
     
  • Being lands and premises known as 50 Ellis Brook Road a/k/a Dover Hills #9W (Dover Grand List Parcel number DW009) conveyed to Alice R. Worthley and Nancy Lee Kopeland by Warranty Deed of Vermont Lumber Corporation dated September 7, 1968 and recorded September 12, 1968 at Book 24, Page 307 of the Dover Land Records as further described in a certain Tax Collector’s Deed granted to the Town of Dover dated January 4, 2017 and recorded January 18, 2017 in Book 340, Pages 649-650 of the Dover Land Records. 

 

  • Being lands and premises known as 22 Buckboard Drive a/k/a Dover Hills #111W (Dover Grand List Parcel number DW111) conveyed to Frederick M. Weller and Ruth M. Weller by Warranty Deed of Vermont Lumber Corporation dated January 29, 1969 and recorded February 4, 1969 at Book 25, Page 91 of the Dover Land Records as further described in a certain Tax Collector’s Deed granted to the Town of Dover dated January 4, 2017 and recorded January 18, 2017 in Book 340, Pages 651-652 of the Dover Land Records. 

The Town of Dover is accepting sealed bids at the Dover Town Clerk’s Office, 102 Route 100 North (P.O. Box 527), West Dover, Vermont, 05356 for the purchase of the premises to be conveyed. 

A copy of the proposed Quitclaim Deed can be reviewed at the Town Clerk’s Office.  Bank certification of the available funds for the purchase price is required.

Sealed bids will be accepted until 12:00 noon on Monday, March 16, 2020.  Bids will be opened by the Selectboard on March 17, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.   The Dover Selectboard reserves the right to waive irregularities, informalities and base the award decision on any criteria deemed in the best interest of the Town of Dover, including purchase price.  The Town of Dover reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

The conveyance shall take place at least thirty (30) days subsequent to the date of the Selectboard’s acceptance of a bid.  This Notice is being posted and published within the municipality pursuant to 24 V.S.A. § 1061.
